The dispute between the ASL and USFA financially weakened the league and its teams. Boston became the first team to fail, leaving the league and disbanding after only four games. Based in Bridgeport, Pennsylvania, the team moved to Newark, New Jersey after ten games, played another five in Newark, then withdrew from the league and disbanded. During their inaugural season in 1994, the Imperials played their home games at Bruins Stadium, which is located within James J. Braddock-Hudson County Park, in North Bergen, New Jersey. Simultaneously, the other three players on the court should move away from the hoop to draw their defenders away and open up the lane for an easy layup.
